Lord Ganesha is closely associated with Planet Ketu and is the planetary overlord of Ketu. Lord Ganesha when prayed to gives the Moksha (enlightenment). Even the traditional forms of Ketu and Ganesha are related. Ganesha had his head decapitated (see below mythology) and it was replaced with an elephant head. Similarly Ketu is the lower half of a severed snake and head-less. Whenever Ketu is placed in the sign of Sagittarius he is also known as Gaja Roopa (face of an elephant God).
In Vedic astrology, Ketu is also known as “Moksha Karaka” or an indicator of liberation, has the potential to give enlightenment, bliss and no rebirth when placed in 12th House in a native’s chart. When Ketu is favorable in a natal chart he brings a lot of luxury, wisdom, spirituality etc. Ketu, associated god is Ganesha. His tattva or element is earth. The color is smoky, metal is lead and gemstone is cat’s eye.
The cat’s eye stone helps to prevent unexpected and sudden mishaps and saves one from accidents and secret enemies. It brings fortune for businessman and people involved in speculative endeavors it gives miraculous result. Cat’s eye will be very helpful to hardworking children or students who are not getting good results of their labour by enabling them to get fruit of their work.
